Yep! You read that title right!
Did you know that you can clean with shaving cream? I didn’t! It was news to me until I saw a Facebook post today about someone cleaning stains on a couch with shaving cream.
My mind was successfully blown.
Needless to say, it got me curious about what else you could clean with shaving cream. It turns out, this stockpile staple can be used to clean more than just scruff!
1. Hands
Turns out shaving cream is going in my camping bag! Squirt a little on your hands, rub them together, and wipe them on a dry cloth. The dirt and grime should be wiped right away, no water needed!
2. Tubs and Tile
If you ever run out of tub and tile cleaner, just reach for the shaving cream. To clean with shaving cream, rub some on your tub and tiles and let it set for a few minutes. Then, just wipe it away, along with the grime. Super grimey grout may require a stif bristle brush, and a little elbow grease.
3. Chrome Fixtures
Bathroom and kitchen faucets made from chrome can be cleaned with shaving cream too! It will remove water spots and give it nice shine.
4. Bathroom Mirrors
There are lots of things to clean with shaving cream in the bathroom, and mirrors are no exception! Lather a little shaving cream onto the surface and wipe it away with a damp cloth. Buff the mirror with a dry cloth, and enjoy a fog-free mirror.
5. Eyeglasses
The shaving cream trick should also work on your eyeglasses. Just rub a dab on your lenses and wipe it off with a soft dry cloth.
6. Carpets and Rugs
Instead of expensive commercial carpet cleaner foam, try spraying some shaving cream on stains. Leave it set for several minutes, then use a stiff brush to agitate the area before you wipe up the shaving cream. Just be sure to test an inconspicuous spot on your carpet to test for discoloration beforehand.
7. Furniture
Carpets and rugs aren’t the only fabrics you can clean with shaving cream. You should also be able to use shaving cream to clean your upholstered furniture as well.
8. Sneakers
Scuffs on your sneakers aren’t pretty. You can remove scuffs and dirt by lathering shaving cream on them and wiping them with a dry washcloth or towel.
9. Jewelry
You can also shine up your jewelry with a little shaving cream. Use a toothbrush to gently wipe away any dust or grime while the shaving cream is on the jewelry, then rinse it in clean water and let it air dry or polish it with a soft cloth.
