Walmart is known for its low prices and one-stop-shopping. Between its everyday low prices and the weekly Rollbacks, you can save an awful lot of money just by shopping at Walmart.
However, unlike some other stores, Walmart is not always loved by couponers for additional ways to save. For instance, Walmart stores do not double coupons or even offer temporary double coupon promotions. Walmart also does not honor competitor coupons, nor does it issue Walmart coupons of its own that can be stacked with manufacturer coupons.
Because of the lack of double coupons and Walmart coupons, some hard-core frugal shoppers tens to avoid this mega-store. When it boils down to it, though, you can still save a bundle at Walmart and it’s definitely convenient for most.
In fact, there are still a few great ways to save more money, even without Walmart coupons!
#1. Manufacturer Coupons
While the store does not issue Walmart coupons, it gladly accepts pretty much all manufacturer coupons. This includes newspaper insert coupons and printable coupons. To find the best deals at Wamart with coupons, be sure to check the weekly Walmart coupon matchups before heading out shopping.
#2. Overage
Even without Walmart coupons, you can still actually make a little money at Walmart. According to the Walmart coupon policy, you can receive the overage if the price of a product is less than the amount of a coupon. For instance, if an item is $1.50 and you have a $2.00 coupon, you’ll receive $0.50 back, either applied to your total or back in cash.
#3. Price Match
Walmart will match the prices of competitors weekly ads. This includes price drops, preferred shopper card prices, and BOGO free free ads with a specified price. They’ll even match the price of fresh produce and meat items when the price is offered in the same unit type—per lb, for instance. Recently, Walmart also announced that they would also match lower prices from online retailers, including Walmart.com.
#4. Price Adjustments
Keep an eye on Walmart ads and competitors’ ads after making a big purchase. Although it’s usually up to a manager’s discretion, most Walmart stores will refund you the difference of an item if you find it for a lower price up to seven days after you purchased it. Just take your original Walmart receipt and proof of the lower price to the customer service desk.
#5. Walmart Savings Catcher
If you don’t feel like fumbling with ads and price matching at the register but still want the savings, the Walmart Savings Catcher could be the answer! Just enter the receipt number online or scan the receipt barcode with the Walmart app, they’ll compare prices, and you’ll receive the difference on a Walmart gift card or in your AmEx Bluebird account.
#6. Clearance Aisles
Who needs Walmart coupons at all when you know where to find the Walmart clearance aisle? You can score some amazing deals on everything from food to personal care items to electronics in the Walmart clearance aisles!
#7. Shop Onine
Although you won’t find Walmart coupons online either, you can still sometimes save big when shopping online at Walmart.com. Before making a larger purchase in the store, double check the price on Walmart.com. If the price is lower, buy online instead and pick it up for free at your local store.
#8. Rebate Apps
Finally, rebate apps can offer some big savings at Walmart. Even though this mega store does not issue Walmart coupons, you can still stack grocery rebate app offers with manufacturer coupons for some big savings!
