These days we could all use a price cut on our grocery bill. Competition is high and many grocery stores are stepping up to the plate and offering enticing discounts on everyday staples to their customers. Back in May Albertson’s in the South California area started what they called the “Big Relief price Cut Program.” Under this program Albertson’s provided customers in the SoCal area with deep discounts on everyday items such as bread, milk, pasta sauce and so much more. At the end of June, they decided to expand this program to even more items.
The expansion of Big Relief applies to all Albertsons in Southern California (from Ridgecrest south to the border) and to Albertsons’ stores in southern Nevada, including Las Vegas. The expansion of the price cut encompasses thousands of items, including staples such as eggs, coffee, detergent and other everyday items. The price cuts are permanent.
Albertson’s has asked me to share the news about this program with my readers. It has also offered to sponsor the giveaway of not one but TWO $100 Gift Cards to Albertson’s stores to residents of Southern California and Southern Nevada Area. Now, I know I have readers from all over the US, but this giveaway is only open to residents of those areas (*sorry*). If you live in SoCal or Southern Nevada this giveaway is for you and I know I have quite a few readers that live in those areas.
I am going to make it easy for you, to enter this giveaway all you need to do is:
1) Leave a comment sharing what food item you are glad has been included in the Big Relief Price Cut Program. OR what item you would like to see included. This is a good time to provide Albertson’s with some suggestions of grocery items to include if they decide to expand the program once again.
2) For three additional entries, you can help spread the word about this giveaway by sharing it on Twitter, Facebook or writing about it on your own blog or MySpace account.
This giveaway is open to residents of the United States only, specifically to residents in the SoCal and Southern Nevada Areas. Please enter only if you are 18 years or older. This giveaway ends 7/12 at 9PM CST. At that time I will select two winners using Random.org and will contact them. if after 48 hours after contact I don’t hear from them I will sleect another winner at random.Good Luck!
I am so excited for this giveaway. I love that eggs, milk, and bread are included in the price cut.
Thanks!

Albertson’s is usually the store I choose to shop at since its very close to my house. It was a happy relief to see that lots of everyday items have really come down in price. However I would like to see more cut downs on breakfast items that my kids eat, like pancake mix and frozen waffles, etc. Thanks for the chance to enter!!!
I really like Bagelfuls and Jimmy Dean Delite’s breakfast sandwiches. I have never purchased these items from Albertsons, as I have always found these items cheaper at Vons or Target.
I would also love to see more Albertsons store coupons. I am able to get some great deals at both Target and Vons by combining store coupons with manufacturer’s coupons.
Eggs, bread, pasta sauce…the every day items we use so frequently. 🙂
Baking items, such as butter, chocolate chips, flour. etc — I’d love for these items to be on price cut.
I’ve just recently discovered the price savings at Albies and am quite impressed.
Tell Albertson’s to expand the program to the Northwest! Prices on basic staples at our Albertson’s are outrageous. (PS – I like that milk was on sale last week – not sure if that was a perm or just a weekly deal.)
For my sister in SoCal – include granola bars and quick breakfast items.
I’m so excited! I’m most stoked about the bread, eggs, and milk. I wish they would include produce. Those are pricey and necessary for a healthy and balanced diet.
I’m so glad they’ve expanded to Las Vegas! Just Tweeted this!
I usually don’t shop at Albertson’s because their prices are so high. I am very pleased and excited that they are lowering the cost of most items. This should make my shopping trips a lot cheaper! 🙂
I would love to see meats, dairy (milk, cheese, eggs and butter) and snacks (fruit snacks, crackers, and chocolate) go down in price.
I agree with Albertson’s coming out with more store coupons. It’s not really worth it for me to go there since they don’t double and their prices are on the high end. I read other blogs (krazycouponlady.blogspot.com and utahdealdiva.com) where Albertson’s has doubler coupons in their Sunday paper, that would be so helpful out here!
I’m glad essentials are on the list like milk and bread!

I would love to see general mills cereals on price cut as well as boneless skinless chicken breasts. I currently purchase chicken at sam’s because it is always 1.97/lb.
I would love to see mama bella’s garlic bread in big relief price cut which goes perfect with ragu.
San Diego, California
I have shared this blog on my myspace account.
Thanks!
Lori
I’m excited for this give away. I love the prices of the milk and cheese!
I was never a big Albertson’s shopper until recently when they started reducing prices. I have been loving it! So keep it up Albertson’s!!
I would like to see the oatmeal go down in price…Quaker almond honey in particular!
But so far I have been very impressed with their markdowns and also their sales.
Thanks!
*Oh…and I blogged about this too!! (I don’t have FB or Twitter though)
I am glad they did a price cut on the Campbell’s soup – time to stock up!
I twittered about this!
https://twitter.com/juliana_designs/status/2520881945
I’m glad they included milk and hope they included cereal. That is my main staple and one of the primary reasons for not going to Albertson’s regularly. Milk and cereal is usually cheaper elsewhere.
I am glad that they include milk, however hope that they will include icecream in the future
milk and cereal…I see alot when I go and am glad- makes it a little more affordable for mom to shop
Love to see price cut on “Joint” item. Both my parents and parents-in-law having that everyday. I used to purchased once a month.
I was really happy to see that price cuts have been coming out weekly at Albertson’s. I usually don’t shop there because they don’t do double coupons, but now I check the weekly add to see if I can find any deals worth shopping at Albertson’s for on my own. I love that pasta and sauce have been reduced, but I would love to see fresh fruit and produce on the price cuts list too…
Albertson’s generally has lower prices than our local grocery stores, such as Vons, Pavillions, and Ralphs. However, the Big Relief Price Cut program makes Albertson’s the only grocery store we now shop at. We love that the main staples (and even ice cream) is more affordable!
I am glad they are including staples. A price cut on fancy cuts of meat or fancy organic canned products does me no good….I want to save EVERY time I shop. I have been happy with my savings at Albertsons so far. I hope they continue to cut more! 🙂

YAY its about time we get a break! I love that the staples are on the list milk & bread are big in my house!

Although I am quite impressed with their new lower prices, I don’t normally shop at Albertsons because I can still find lower prices at Vons. I agree that they should look into doubling coupons, or at least including store coupons in their mailer. Several times I have been tempted to go because of the lower price on staple items but everything else on my list is cheaper elsewhere. Thanks for the giveaway!
I would love to see more fresh produce prices reduced. Everyone needs to buy fresh fruit and would benefit from lower prices every time they shop, not just when they are on special. Thanks for the price cuts already in place. Please keep them coming. We love to buy our meat from your fresh meat counter, especially steaks and chicken breasts!
I live in Las Vegas, NV. I would love to see prices on fresh produce reduced.
I agree with some of the comments. I don’t do all of my shopping at Albertson’s because their prices are so high. I am glad to see the price cut. I would love to see it includes meat as well. Especially the boneless skinless chicken breast.
Orange County resident
Would love to see lower prices on basic meat and poultry.
I would love to see fresh produce included because produce is one of the hardest items to purchase really cheap consistently. Now that times are financially tough, I find myself buying less and less produce. Thank you for cutting prices!
I would love to see more of the produce have lower prices. And I LIKE that the staples like eggs, milk and cheese are lower.
I love that milk is included…we go through a few gallons a week. I wish that more fruits and veggies were included…we want to stay healthy!
Meat, milk, and baby formula are big at my house. I would love to see Albertson’s have double coupon days.
I love the pasta sauce deals now and of course milk and eggs!! I wish they have more specials on the veggies and fruit though!

So far we have enjoyed extra savings on Ragu,, Progresso and many different Albertsons brand items! My Big Relief savings totaled $8.10 this week and that was in addition to sales and coupons!
I live in Las Vegas and let me tell you, we need the price cut. I like it that they have their Ragu on price cut.
Thanks,
Sandra

Albertson’s has some great store brands. I am happy they started this program and have lowered the prices of not only the store brands but big brand names too. Cheaper produce would be a great addition. Thanks for entering me!
I’m glad to see tha pasta sauce on the price cut. With a family of 5 to feed, we eat alot of spaghetti because it’s a meal that will stretch for more than 1 night. I agree with alot of your other readers that I’d love to see CA do doublers as well. I’d also like to see meats on the price cut at albertsons. I love your blog!

I’m glad the cereal is cheaper. I’d like to see cheaper prices on the meats.

I love the cheaper bread and cheese!! We go through a lot of that in my house.
Thanks,

I shared this give away on facebook as well!!
Albertsons needs to do double/ triple coupon days!!!
I posted it on myspace too!!
Thank you!!
I’d be more likely to shop there if they added some store coupon. Also if they reduced the produce prices- they always seem a little higher than the competition.
Cool! Thanks, Mercedes! I don’t think I’ve ever shopped at an Albertsons but I might have to start 🙂
I’d like to see them have the lowest price on organic milk – it’s $5.99 per gallon every day at Trader Joe’s, and I can find it at that price on sale at mainstream markets. A lower every day price would definitely get me in the store on a regular basis!
I’m glad they have cut the price on staples like bread, milk, eggs, and cheese. I have seen that some Albertson’s in Idaho still offer some form of double coupons, and I wish that could also be done here in Southern California (I live in Lompoc). That would be great!
I would like to see them include some organic food. There organic offerings are very expensive, so I do not shop there and I can literally walk there from my house! The organic consumer is not getting any price relief.

I’m so glad to hear the price cut is permanent! I’d love to see a price cut on meat, like any of the boneless/skinless chicken cuts.
Teresa
I like Albies prices on canned veggies. I’d like to see a price-cut on cheese and milk.
I would love an Albertson’s gift card!
I’d love to see discounts on baking staples like flour, sugar, butter, etc.
I love alberstons and I hope to see Healthy choice cafe steamers included.
I twitted about your giveaway.

Thanks!
I don’t normally shop at Albertsons unless I have a coupon for something I know is on sale. I was surprised after going there after their price cuts, and I wouldn’t mind shopping there on a regular basis. I was glad to see that apple juice was a bit cheaper, since we go through a couple bottles a week.
Like others have said, it would be nice for more of the produce to be reduced in price, as well as baking staples. So many people think alike!
I tweeted about this giveaway here:
https://twitter.com/Linskitchen
Raisin Nut Bran cereal would be my pick. It is my FAVORITE and it usually runs about $4.50/box!
I rarely shop at Albertsons because its too expensive even though its very close to my house. They also have a problem with selling expired products. Then its a huge hassle to try to return the item. I’m glad they lowered prices on eggs & milk. They need to lower all their prices. I do most of my shopping at Trader Joes & Target.
I am so thankful for the staples items such as eggs that have been added to the big relief price cut and even more so that its permanet!!
As a so cal shopper i really have to pick and choose so the more things that get added to the list the bettter for me (and others) so I/we don’t waste our precious gas on trying to find and shop a lot of different place for the best deal.
Thanks for the chance to win.

I love that they are cutting prices, I like that bread has gone down. When they have catalina deals, it is great to shop there. I wish that they would double coupons. 🙂
I love their produce sales, wish those would be more permanent. I love that they are cutting prices! I have been shopping there more frequently recently!
I love that milk, cereal and OJ have been cheaper. I would like to see them lower their prices on meat and not limit some of their produce sales to 3 days.
I am glad essentials are on the list, like bread & milk!!
janenrtn(at)gmail.com
I’m glad that all of my essentials (milk, bread, eggs) are discounted. We buy all those staples every week.
I would love to win a gift card!
Eggs and milk! Who doesn’t blow through those all the time, especially families and those of us on low-carb diets. I RTed the promo on Twitter.
I’m happy to see that diapers have gotten the price cut!
I would like to see more skillet meals (or BBQ) so I won’t have to use my oven during hot summer nights. I like what Albertsons is doing!
Kelly
I love that this is for Socal residents. I rarely see that! I love that they have wheat thins on price cut nd mission torilla chips. We eat those almost everyday for snacks.
I twittered it
https://twitter.com/crystalckn
I love that the price has been cut on milk, bread and cheese, since I use them a lot
I just blogged about this at Chief Family Officer 🙂
I ride my bike to the local Albertson store, I am single and a recent homeowner, so any money I can save is great
I was recently laidoff, so any money I can save on the basics like bread and milk is great
I noticed the Ragu pasta sauce took a major decline in price! That was great! I’d love to see more reductions in the meat dept!
And I blogged about this!
i’d like to see king arthur flour with a reduced price, that is probably the one staple that i always have to have on stock and the price has been pretty steep lately!
Great to see the essentials are on the list, but what about Albertson’s great spinach dip?
