Some of the Amazon deals that I post on here require you to sign up for the Amazon Subscribe and Save service, and I just wanted to take a moment to help you better understand this service, and its benefits and drawbacks.
What is Amazon Subscribe and Save?
Amazon Subscribe and Save is a service offered by Amazon.com that can save you both time and money. If you play your cards right, that is.
When you sign up for Amazon Subscribe and Save, you are basically signing up for a subscription service where you receive certain products on a regular schedule. You can choose your own schedule based on monthly intervals. from once a month to once every six months.
You must use a credit card to sign up for Subscribe and Save, but you’ll only be charged for each delivery when it’s shipped. For instance, when you first sign up for Subscribe and Save, your card will be charged almost right away. However, your card won’t be charged until your next order ships. You’ll get a reminder email before each shipment as well.
How do I Use Amazon Subscribe and Save?
Amazon Subscribe and Save can only be used on certain items on Amazon. this usually includes non-perishable food items, cleaning products, personal hygiene products, and pet supplies. Check out all items eligible for Amazon Subscribe and Save here.
You can also easily tell if an item is available for Subscribe and save by looking for the Subscribe and Save option where you add an item to your cart. It should look like this:
Choose how often you’d like to receive your products, click “Subscribe now”, and that’s it. You’ll checkout and receive your products on the intervals you specify.
Will I Save Money With Amazon Subscribe and Save?
The short answer to this is yes – you will save money with Amazon Subscribe and Save – if you play your cards right.
When you order using Amazon Subscribe and Save, you’ll receive a 5% discount on the first four orders you place. Once you have five Subscribe and Save orders, though, you’ll receive a 15% discount. These discounts are applied to each and every order you receive. This means you’ll get a discount on your very first order as well as each subsequent order. You’ll also get free shipping on your orders.
Amazon Subscribe and Save will also save you money in other ways as well. For instance, you’ll save money on fuel, since you won’t have to drive to and from stores to pick up daily essentials.
There may be times when Amazon Subscribe and Save won’t save you money, though. For instance, you may run into a great sale at your local store from time to time, or you might find that some items are slightly more expensive using Subscribe and Save. My best advice would be to shop around before committing to Subscribe and Save. Another thing you need to watch out for is price changes. Your card will be charged the amount of money that an item is currently when it’s shipped, so if the price has gone up, you’ll be charged the higher price.
However, as the old saying goes – “time is money”, and Amazon Subscribe is certainly a time saver! sometimes it’s worth paying a couple dollars extra for the convenience of Amazon Subscribe and Save, especially if you have a super busy lifestyle.
Can I Cancel Amazon Subscribe and Save?
Absolutely! You can manage your Amazon Subscribe and Save subscriptions on this page, and that includes canceling your subscriptions. Theoretically, this means that you can cancel your Amazon Subscribe and Save subscriptions even after just one delivery.
