In case you haven’t had a chance to check your Target sales circular yet, jumbo packs of Huggies and Pampers are on sale for $10.79 a pack! That’s a full two dollars higher than they were barely two weeks ago. Diaper manufacturers increased their prices again (they did earlier in January). The prices are higher across the board. I noticed yesterday at Walmart the jumbo packs were $10.54 a pack.
When the last price hike happened Angie at Babycheapskate wrote about five ways to deal with it. Every week she tracks diaper and formula deals. I want to help you too. Not every week, because I am not sure there will be a great diaper deal every week, but as I come across them I will let you know how you can score cheap diapers by combining sales and coupons.
This week you can get cheap diapers at CVS. Pampers jumbo packs are on sale for $8.88
$8.88 one jumbo pack of Pampers diapers
$2.99 Sure deodorant
0.00 Sure deodorant (it’s on sale buy one get one free)
= $11.87
-2 $2 off $10 CVS coupon (coupon expires 9/28, so we will put it to great use until then)
-2.99 BOGO Coupon for sure deodorant
-1.50 Pampers diaper coupon from 8/3 inserts
= $5.38 for one jumbo pack of Pampers diapers
If you don’t have Sure buy one get one coupons, then you can use Pert Shampoo as your filler to bring your purchase to more than $10. It is also on sale buy one get one and there were $2/1 coupons in the 8/3 inserts.
If you don’t have a CVS but have a Walgreens, start looking for the coloring book I wrote about a few weeks back. This book has a Walgreens coupon for $1 off any Huggies jumbo pack and it doesn’t expire until March of 09. It works as a Walgreens coupon in that the cashier only has to scan it once and it gets applied to every pack in your order. Don’t forget to ask the cashier for the coupon back after s/he uses it. They are not required to keep Walgreens coupons. That way you can reuse it. This week Huggies jumbo packs are $9.49 a pack or $7.49 after manufacturer coupon and coupon from the coloring book. You can get an additonal $1 off per pack by submitting your receipt to the Caregiver’s Marketplace rebate program. Not as good a deal but still a better deal than Target or Walmart.
Finally, don’t forget to ask for rainchecks when you can. If you see a great sale price and the item is out of stock ask for as many rainchecks as you can. Rainchecks don’t expire at CVS or Walgreens, so they are a great way to freeze the price of the item for you.
Check back often to see the results of my quest to beat higher diaper prices.
