If you purchased a Kindle book published by Hachette, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Penguin or Macmillan between 4/1/10 and 5/21/12, make sure you check your account today! You might have been issued a credit as part of the settlement. These credits can be used toward the purchase of Kindle ebooks or print books.
Apparently, these publishers have settled several antitrust lawsuits about eBook prices. Consumers who purchased books from them during a specific time period may receive a credit based on how many ebooks they purchased, whether they were New York Times Bestsellers or not, and whether you were a Minnesota resident or not.
Not everyone is eligible for this credit, but it won’t hurt to check your account anyway.
