This gift idea is perfect for the fit dad or the wanna-be-fit dad. A heart rate monitor is a great tool for all exercisers. It will help you learn how you feel at a given heart rate and you will become a better judge of your exercise tolerance and any limitations. Heart rate monitors are also useful for new exercisers because the device helps them set limits and monitor their progress.
Check out the various functions this monitor includes:
Time: time, date, month, day, 12 or 24 hour watch, daily alarm clock, and dual time zones.
Heart Rate: use your finger to touch the watch and test your rate or use the strap that comes in the kit, workout memory, personalized heart rate zone alert, calorie consumption, etc.
Timer: sound alarm, times up to 23 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds
Chronograph: lap/split memory recall, up to 100 laps, times up to 23 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds
Pedometer: measure strides, time, distance, and speed
Some of the aesthetic features that I liked in this heart rate monitor is that it is sleek and sporty. But most importantly, I liked the useful features like the timer and the calorie burning counter.
For a more sensible budget you may want to consider the Qlip Pedometer from Sportline for $35 and The Men’s Health Power Strip at $20. The Qlip has the ability to be clipped on to your clothing or is small enough to fit inside your pocket. It tracks steps, distance, calories and total time in activity. The Power Strip is your in home gym. Attach it to a door, and practice different moves toning different areas of your body. It comes with handles and ankle straps and can travel with you on the road. This could save dad the expensive costs of a gym membership.

I’d give him this heart rate monitor so that he could wear it and keep track of when/if his heart rate started racing too much. Sometimes worrying about having a panic attack is enough to give you one. Also, it would help so much while exercising to ensure that he doesn’t press himself too much!

I am trying to get in better shape because I am walking for my Aunt Jan who suffers from PKD. Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is one of the most common life-threatening genetic diseases, affecting 600,000 Americans and 12.5 million people worldwide.
In fact, it affects more people than Down syndrome, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, and sickle cell anemia –combined! Still, few people know about it. There is no treatment and no cure… YET.
I am walking to change that and the heart monitor would really help me achive losing weight.

I am really excited about the Duo 1060 Speed & Distance Heart Rate Monitor. I would love to have one. I’m walking and running to lose weight and training to run for a ½ marathon. I also lost my watch and was looking to get a new one. This giveaway has everything I’m looking for, a watch, pedometer, and heart monitor.
1. I am using it when I exercise especially when I sprint (emscout9 at Hotmail dot com)

My husband is 80 years young and still works 4 days a week. This would be a really good thing for him to have as I cannot always be with him to look out for him when he is at work. Sometimes he tends to overdo as he will not admit to getting older.
It’s a perfect Father’s Day gift to make sure the men in your life are staying healthy while exercising.
I would give it my mom
