Last week was Mardi Gras; celebrated not only in New Orleans but also in Brazil and Canary Islands. Feeling festive I decided it would be a good idea to participate in a carnival. I decided to submit one of my posts on Taxes to the Carnival Of Personal Finance. This week is being hosted by Madison @ My Dollar Plan.
The Carnival has a Valentine’s Day theme and I would like to highlight a few posts, but please be sure to check out all of the submissions:
The Carnival has a Valentine’s Day theme and I would like to highlight a few posts, but please be sure to check out all of the submissions:
- Don’t know what to get your sweetie this V-day? David at My Two Dollars gives you five ideas to capture the sentiment while holding on to your dollars this holiday. I also enjoyed reading Ashley’s at College of Cash entry on why she doesn’t do V-day. I have to be honest and confess that I tend to get my husband three cards for this holiday. You know, one funny, one romantic and one racy. But cards really are expensive, and the enjoyment lasts very little.
- Because V-day is all about relationships, I think you may want to check these next two entries: Lynnae at Being Frugal highlights seven things women wish men knew about money. While Ron from Wisdom Journal lets us know the seven things men wish women knew about money. Make sure to share this with your spouse.
- My husband and I have been struggling lately with what to do with our savings in these turbulent times. We would both benefit from this entry at Funny About Money. For a primer on how the Federal Reserve works read J.C.’s Money blog. For additional information on where you can park your savings in a recessionary economy read this entry on Money Management and you. Here Cameron highlights alternatives for your savings.
Make sure to take a look at all of the entries in this week’s Carnival of Personal Finance, here.
