The clock struck 12 and the scramble to preorder iPhone 7 devices began today! Well, actually, the clock struck 12:01 am, but close enough, right? Impatient consumers were officially able to preorder the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus on Friday, September 9 at 12:01 a.m Pacific time.
You can preorder iPhone 7 devices quickly and easily from your current carrier, or make the switch to a new carrier. Instead of plunking down big bucks right up front, most cell carriers also offer installment plans, which allow you to make monthly payments on your new phone until it’s paid off. Depending on the carrier you choose, you might also be able to trade in your old device to lower your overall cost.
So, what does each of the four major carriers have to offer this year? Let’s take a look…
Verizon Wireless
If you’re a Verizon Wireless customer, or want to be, head over to VerizonWireless.com to preorder a new iPhone. New and existing customers can preorder an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus and take advantage of easy monthly payments.

Trade in an old device, and get an even better deal on your iPhone 7 preorder. Just tell them about the device you’re planning to trade in to find out how much it’s worth. Trade in older select iPhone models, and you could even get a free iPhone 7! You will have to shell out the $649.99 for the phone up front, but will receive a $650.00 credit over the course of 24 months. Credits will start being applied 2 – 3 billing cycles into your contract and end when the balance is paid or the line is cancelled.
Sprint
Sprint customers can also take advantage of monthly payments when they preorder iPhone 7 devices. However, unlike Verizon’s $0.00 down deal, you may need to shell out a down payment, depending on which model you choose. But, the monthly payments for your new device will be lower than Verizon’s. Plus, get a free memory upgrade when you preorder a 256GB model for the same final cost as the 128GB model.

Qualified customers can also get a free iPhone 7 (32GB) with an eligible trade-in. You’ll have to pay for the device up front, then receive a $27.09 monthly service credit for 24 months. This offer is available with a new line activation or eligible upgrade.
AT&T
AT&T offers even lower monthly payments when you preorder the iPhone 7 by extending the installment plan to 30 months with the AT&T Next plan. The AT&T Next plan allows you to upgrade every two years after 80% of the retail price of the device is paid.
