Jacob A. Slosberg started working in the shoe industry in 1892. By 1919, he had set up his own company in a converted stable in Boston, and in 1933, he purchased the name Stride Rite. The brand’s rich history (along with Slosberg’s 60-plus-year career) is evident in every product the brand makes.
