I have 24 boxes of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (like the one pictured above) that I would like to donate to the food pantry. BUT (you knew a but was coming), they expired on 4/28/08, almost two months ago.
My husband (the food scientist) says the cheese sauce is stable enough to still be good to consume. But for sure the pasta is still safe to eat. However, I don’t think the people at the food bank will be able to see beyond the expiration date. Even if they do, I don’t think legally they can keep this?? anyone know?
I was thinking of giving it away to friends, explaining that for sure the pasta can be used. It would be thrown away if I took it to the food bank, wouldn’t it?
