I think my favorite this year was the turkey! Brined and roasted, tender as can be and easy to deal with — it was ready to fall off the bone when we carved it.

Oh the REAL cranberry sauce was delightful.
MMMM! My favorite is the day after meal that my mother-in-law makes. Layer a casserole dish with Turkey on the bottom, mashed potatoes next, dressing on top of the potatoes and top it off with gravy. Bake covered until hot. Can add a small layer oof cheese if you want. I love this dish!
My favorite this year & every year of my entire life.. my favorite Thanksgiving dish was the Cornbread Dressing & Gibblet Gravy.. YUMMMM!! My grandma taught me how to make it many years ago and Im so thankful now that shes passed on.. She was still with me on Thanksgiving day! 🙂 The Green Bean casserole is always awesome too.

I grew up in Alaska and my favorite Thanksgiving dinner meal would have to be FRESH Alaskan King Crab! I know it’s not traditional fare, but it was traditional for us. Loved gathering around the table, with my family surrounding a huge pile of king crab in the middle and eating until we were stuffed. Now that I live in Washington this isn’t as reasonable and I haven’t had this in years. . .oh how I miss it!

I made garlic mashed potatoes & boy was it strong with garlic! I thought I overdid it, but turns out that all of the guests love garlic as much as I do! I loved them!

I made the most delicious green beans (I say, immodestly). So simple–walnuts toasted in butter, with some brown sugar, ground ginger, salt and pepper, added to steamed green beans. Mmmmmm…..

the Turkey, I use my grandmothers aluminum roaster pan from the 30’s, aside from making the moistest turkey it brings family memories back.
